Reanimate.

Writing horror is my therapy. It’s how I work through my trauma—how I reanimate myself after the demise of my soul. Whether from living with an abusive parent, suffering through minimum-wage poverty, surviving combat in Iraq, teaching in public schools, or learning to fly airplanes, these experiences must work their ways into my stories if I am to heal and move on from them. Without writing horror, I’m not sure I’d be as resilient as the person I am today.

Pilot

Since May 2022 I have been flying small airplanes in pursuit of all the certificates and ratings I might earn in my lifetime to qualify me for the dream jobs I want and open up opportunities for travel.

Investigator

Teacher

Contributing to my background in writing, I spent 8 years teaching high school English classes—mainly AP and creative writing—and earned a master’s degree in education so that I could teach at the college level.

Musician

Before I was writing horror fiction, I was writing heavy metal! I’ve released two albums under the bands Crafteon (Lovecraftian black metal) and Vacant Throne (power metal). But things have been slow since covid…

Soldier

The most writing I’ve ever done in my life was actually by keeping a journal of my experiences through basic training, garrison life, and a combat deployment with the US Army infantry. One day I’ll turn it into a horror novel…
